I'M A DEADBEAT!!!! YESSSS.....

~I'm a Deadbeat~

THANK GOD FOR MY POPS EVEN THOUGH HE'S A DEADBEAT
WAS SEARCHING FOR HIS HEART FROM BIRTH HE LEFT ME
I USED TO THINK MY LIFE WITHOUT HIM WOULD LEAD TO ME BEING A DEAD BEAT
BUT NOW I EAT OF CHRIST MEAT AND DRINK OF HIS BLOOD
THROUGH HIM I EAT WELL NO MORE DEAD MEAT
I'M A LIVING WITNESS THAT CHRIST BEAT THE DEAD, SEE

I ONCE WAS BLIND AND HAZY, HEART LIKE CONCRETE
WITH NO IDENTITY, MEANING I WAS WITH ME
ALL THE TIME AND STILL  COULDN'T FIND ME
AND JUST CASE YOUR WONDERING NO ONE PAID ME TO SAY THESE
WORDS THEY COME LIKE FREEBIES
WHY? CUZ HE'S ALWAYS KEPT ME
NOW I REST IN ABBA FATHER HIS WINGS ARE EVER PROTECTING
SO YES, I HAVE A PULSE I FOUND HIS (GOD) HEARTBEAT
TO WORLD SAYS I'M A DEAD BEAT AND THEY'RE RIGHT
I'M DEAD TO THE RHYTHMIC PATTERNS THAT THE WORLDS BEATS
NOW EVERY WHERE MY FEET TREAD OUT POURS VICTORY SO NO MORE LEAD FEET
YET FEET THAT'S LEAD AND ORDERED
ALL OVER THIS WORLD LIKE A SPREAD SHEET AND FULL OF THE WORD
COVERS ME LIKE BED SHEETS
SO I CAN ENDURE TO THE END NOW THATS A TRUE ATHLETE

SO YEP I'M A DEADBEAT WHO CAME FROM A DEADBEAT
NOW I'M ALIVE THROUGH CHRIST HIS BLOOD WAS SHED FOR ME
FROM NEVER EATING HIS WORD CALL ME ANOREXIC
NOW DAILY SERVINGS YA GIRL IS HEALTHY.....

I could go on...but Are you a dead beat???!!!!

A Letter To My Father I've Never Met

If I were to ever write an actual letter to my Dad(because I've never met him) this is what it would probably say:

Dear Dad,

It's Shavra...yeah you know me! Wow time shooooo has passed. lol. I'm 26 now and I'm doing well. God has blessed me with so many things. I wanted to say thanks! Thanks for everything that you did for me. Even though you did nothing outside of conception I'm thankful for you. Why? Because all God needed was a seed to get me here and He knew that He had the rest covered. If you may be wondering...I'm fine. I'm beautiful, smart, goofy, in college, in the military, and many more. Nah really I'm well! How are you? You should be like a billion years old by now lol well maybe in your mid-sixties. I hope you know Christ as Lord and Savior. That's all I want for you. To know God and his unfailing love....

Well!!!!! That's about all I have to say about that!
Your daughter,
Shavra L. Woodard

Hooray For All The Mothers!!!!

I've been thinking about mothers lately and how great of a job that mothers do. So often I think that people assume mothers just 'know' it all when it comes down to their child(ren). What I've noticed is that mothers are learning how to be mothers. They are learning and that's okay. People think (and many mothers too) that mothers are supposed to know the in's and outs of the child(ren) as soon as the baby enters the world. How in the world are mothers supposed to know what's wrong with a child when they just met them?! That statement makes me giggle but its true. We've been with ourselves our entire life and we're still learning things about us all the time!

So why am I saying this? I'm saying this because being a mother is HARD! How do we know its hard? Just look at the nightly news and you'll see examples of mothers starving, abusing, and abandoning their children among other things. That shows us that motherhood is not for punks or the weak at heart! It shows us that many have tried and failed miserably but many have tried, never gave up, and are wonderful mothers! For all of the mothers who struggle with 'am I doing a good job? Am i good mother? What am I doing with him/her? I'll never get this right...' I want to tell you that being a good mother is NOT about getting it right all the time. It's about not giving up, trying different things to help your child(ren) grow, loving some young person who really does adore you because you're 'mama', enjoy those moments when love to them is so simple and necessary. Truthfully your child(ren) adores you! So 'HOORAY' for mothers who are there day after day! Who everyday, no matter how horrible yesterday was, get up and begin each day again! HOORAY!!!!!! I applaud you!

Finally, am I a mother?! NO! But the first level of discernment is observation' says Apostle Lafayette Scales. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the mothers who grind every day for their babies and the 'thank you' that they receive are rare. So THANK YOU mothers for being there for your children! YOU ROCK!!!! lol!

I hope this encourages you a bit :-)
